Felix and Amanda Barga: a family and its homes
A couple photograph and two home photographs show how one piece of family land connected generations.
Dora Barga and Elizabeth Schieltz married at Holy Family Church in Frenchtown on 9 November 1886. The family records describe their farm in York Township, near Brock, where they raised eight children.
Their son Felix and his wife Amanda Smith lived on the original family land. The records describe an early home and another house built in the 1950s. The photographs give the written account a physical setting.
Felix and Amanda's photograph is now used on both of their cards. The archive page preserves the couple and the home together. Dora and Elizabeth's earlier home photograph is also attached to their profiles.
